Turneffe Flats offers four choices for accommodations, each with its own unique advantages. Our Beach Cabanas are ideal for couples while the Reef Villa, Garden Villa and Pelican Villa are often preferred by groups or families.  Please see details of all accommodations below.

• Beach Cabanas – There are eight spacious, air-conditioned cabanas located on the beach with a wonderful view of Turneffe’s coral reef and the Caribbean beyond.  A small oceanside deck, ideal for morning coffee or evening relaxation, has been recently added in front of the cabanas. Each of the cabanas feature two queen beds and private bath. All accommodations at Turneffe Flats are air conditioned.
• Garden Villa – The Garden Villa has three separate bedrooms, and features vaulted ceilings and a common area which is ideal for larger groups or families.  Each room has one queen and one twin bed and its own private bathroom. It is Turneffe Flats’ largest accommodation. The common area is set up as a living room with a television. A small refrigerator and kitchenette/bar is available, although there are no cooking facilities.
• Reef Villa – The Reef Villa is a three-bedroom accommodation with a common area that is ideal for small groups or families.  The Reef Villa has a large beach area in front and perhaps the best view of all accommodations. The common area is set up as a living room with a television.  A small refrigerator is available, but there are no cooking facilities.  This villa includes one bedroom with two queen beds, and two bedrooms that each have one queen bed.  All bedrooms have private baths.
• Pelican Villa – Our new Pelican Villa is a spacious oceanfront, two-bedroom/ two-bath villa featuring an additional living room area overlooking Turneffe’s reef. Ideal for families or two couples, it is Turneffe Flats’ newest and most deluxe accommodation. The Pelican Villa has a large beach area in front and among the best views all accommodations. The common area is set up as a living room with a flat screen television, small refrigerator and kitchenette/bar.  This luxurious villa includes one bedroom with a king bed, and one bedroom with a queen plus a twin bed.  The two bedrooms can also be configured separately, each with its own private entrance. All accommodation are air conditioned and all bedrooms have private baths.

Food and Beverages

Meals are a delicious combination of Belizean and international dishes. Fresh seafood, local produce and home-baked pastries are standard fare. Depending upon your plans and your preference, you have the option to take a packed lunch or return for lunch each day.

Following hors d’oeuvres and refreshments in the evening, dinner consists of soup or salad, the main entree, and a delicious dessert.  Entrees vary among seafood, chicken, pork and beef. We do our best to accommodate special dietary needs. Our bar is located in the lodge adjacent to the dining area and offers plenty of open space to gather after a day of fishing, diving and adventure.

Typical Length of Stay
The most popular length of stay at the lodge is for 7 nights and 6 days Saturday to Saturday. Turneffe Flats also offer shorter length stays depending on availability. Please inquire with us about a customized length of stay.

Non-Angling Activities

• Diving –  Belize’s atolls are consistently rated among the world’s best diving destinations and Turneffe Flats is ideally located to take advantage of the best sites on the atolls. We emphasize personalized service and maximum flexibility.  Dive groups, led by our excellent, service-oriented dive team, are generally kept at eight divers or fewer. We offer three dives daily including a weekly trip to the Blue Hole and Lighthouse Reef (weather permitting).  PADI dive instruction is available with a range of courses including Open Water Referrals, Advanced Scuba Diver Certification, Discover Scuba Diving and various specialty courses.
• Atoll Adventure – With so many wonderful things to experience at Turneffe, we have developed a unique marine ecotour vacation combining world-class snorkeling with other exciting and educational activities including observing rare manatees, sea turtles, saltwater crocodiles, dolphins, and birds in their natural habitats.  Learn the fascinating history of Belize and Turneffe Atoll from one of our highly experienced naturalist guides, enjoy a lively Belizean cooking class, or just relax in a hammock under the coconut palms.
• Belizean Cooking Class – Guests can spend part of a day in our lodge kitchen with one of our talented cooks learning how to prepare empanadas, tortillas, tamales or garnaches the Belizean way. This is more than a cooking class; it is a culture class and you will be sure to go home with fond memories and great recipes.
• Massage – Massages are available from one of our excellent masseuses throughout your stay, after you’ve returned from a great day of fishing, diving, or snorkeling. We offer traditional Swedish Massage or Deep Tissue Massage which can be scheduled for either 60- or 90-minute sessions.  Massages can be scheduled prior to your arrival or once your get to the resort.  Massages are typically given in the comfort of your room.

Internet / Communications
There is basic wi-fi access in the lodge but not the guest rooms. The wi-fi is accessed through very basic satellite connection, so don’t expect to be able to catch up on your latest shows. The wi-fi strength is good enough to check a few urgent emails. But isn’t that the whole point, to get away from all the noise? There is a satellite phone for emergency situations. Direct dial telephone service is readily available 24 hours a day in the office area of the lodge building.

How To Get There
International flights to Belize City’s Philip Goldson International Airport (BZE) go through Miami, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Denver, Fort Lauderdale, Toronto, Newark, Chicago, and Charlotte. The major airlines that service Belize is American Airlines, Continental/United, U.S. Air, Delta, Aero Mexico, Southwest, Avianca, and Taca.

Arrival and Departure Details/Times

Flights must arrive no later than 3:30 p.m. Upon arrival at Belize International Airport (BZE), you will pick up your luggage, clear Customs and exit the airport.  In case you need assistance with your luggage (a very short distance), airport porters are available. As you exit Customs, a Turneffe Flats representative will meet you and transport you to our boat dock along Belize City’s waterfront area. There you will be notified of the boat’s scheduled departure time, which varies according to guest arrivals.  There is a restaurant/bar nearby at the Radisson Hotel & Marina for lunch or a beverage while you wait to leave for Turneffe Flats.  If for some reason you cannot find a representative of Turneffe Flats at the airport, please take a taxi to the Radisson Hotel and notify their receptionist.

If your arrival flight is delayed and you miss our transfer boat, you will need to stay in Belize City on Saturday overnight. You may catch our guide boat at 7:30 am Sunday, however if the guide boat is full, we will need to hire a charter to take you across. This will be at your own expense, though Turneffe Flats can arrange the charter.  If needed, we will assist with your Saturday night arrangements and please contact the island (671-9022 locally in Belize) or the Reservations Office (888-512-8812) about arrangements for your transfer to Turneffe Flats on Sunday morning. The cost of meals and lodging, and/or the private charter in Belize City is not covered in your Turneffe Flats package.

Documents Required
DO NOT FORGET YOUR PASSPORT.  A valid passport is required to enter Belize.  We recommend that you carry a change of clothing and your necessary personal items such as medications in your carry-on bag.  Although we have not had a substantial problem with lost luggage, this can help prevent some major headaches.  Keep the bottom portion of your Immigration Form, which you will fill out on your arriving flight. It will be used when you depart Belize.

General Information
For more than 30 years, Turneffe Flats has been recognized as one of the world’s finest saltwater destinations.  Our diverse fishery, with the opportunity to land bonefish, permit and tarpon on any given day, sets Turneffe Flats apart from other destinations. Turneffe’s crystal clear, wadeable flats make bonefishing a consistent mainstay for our anglers. Turneffe is also one of a select group of saltwater destinations offering anglers the excitement of casting to tailing permit every month of the year. Additionally, Turneffe is home to large migratory tarpon between May and October with resident tarpon caught throughout the year. Snook, barracuda, snapper, jacks, triggerfish, and several other species, round out an exceptionally diverse fishery.

Boats and Equipment
We fish from 16-foot Dolphin Super Skiffs custom built in the U.S. These are comfortable skiffs that cut the chop when running and pole well in skinny water. They have large casting decks and rod holders for six rods. All skiffs are equipped with VHF radios and safety gear.  Lean bars are available upon request.
