STAN BOGDAN AND KATHRYN MAROUN – SEASON OPENER ATLANTIC SALMON

“Two things I love in this world. One is silver salmon and the other one is beautiful women. So you see, I’m an authority on both…A Salmon is like a woman, I look at those two eyes and I think ohh jeez.”

Sounds about right…

Stan and Me is fly fisherman Kathryn Maroun’s touching account of her friendship with Stanley Bogdan, the legendary inventor of the Bogdan reel. Although they were a half century apart in age, and came from vastly different backgrounds, Kathryn and Stanley became friends the first time they went out on the river together. Their shared passion for Atlantic salmon fishing sustained an unlikely friendship which lasted, despite some rocky moments, until Stanley’s death in 2011 at the age of 92.

Stan and Me is the filmmaker’s moving tribute to her friend, and a personal reflection on the power and meaning of friendship.
