Don’t tell PETA, but the real stuff is back. In an industry that has recently been dominated by synthetics, Sierra Designs has figured out a way to coat natural down feathers to make them less prone to soaking up moisture with a process called DriDown. They have announced a full line of DriDown sleeping bags for 2012.

DriDown is a molecular polymer that after being applied to individual down plumes will allow the feathers to stay dry seven times longer when exposed to moisture. The technology will also maintain 98% of its loft after a full night in high humidity environments, and it also dries 33% faster.

But, you’re gonna have to wait until mid-July to get your hands on one.
